Seawater filtration in regasification process on FSRU
Liquid Natural Gas is unloaded from LNG carrier to an FSRU vessel and warmed to a point where it reverts to its gaseous state (above 0° Celsius). The regasification process takes place at high pressure through a series of LNG vaporizers. The heat to regasify the LNG is provided by sea water, at its ambient temperature. For this technique, the quality of the water pumped from the sea has to be adequate. This is the role of the BOLLFILTER Automatic, which delivers precise defined filtration results by retaining suspended solids from the sea water.
Liquefying and regasifying natural gas is a demanding and comprehensive field of application in every respect. By means of the aquaBoll®, seawater is filtered with great efficiency to protect high-performance heat exchangers, the various nozzles used during cooling processes. The removal of organic particles and sediments to a consistently high level of quality is of utmost priority, and the aquaBoll® makes sure of it. It achieves the flow rates required for the extremely demanding thermal applications effortlessly. In contrast to alternative filtration concepts, it stands out with its minimal space requirement, low weight and fully automated self-cleaning action.
